A New Way To Advertise Voluntary Sector Jobs

I know that there aren’t THAT many job vacancies in the voluntary sector here in South Derbyshire, but next time you need to recruit, here’s an idea that I came across recently.

Spangle Jelly is a community focused job board that aims to list as many community and voluntary, charity, social enterprise and jobs with a social focus in one location. We aim to promote working in the sector to a wide spectrum of jobseekers in order to encourage new skills and expertise and to consider either volunteering or paid employment in the sector as a positive employment choice.

The internet is one of the most powerful ways of achieving this, we aim to provide this service for as low a cost as possible. We have adopted a  “Pay for Worth” programme whereby organisations advertising jobs choose how much they would like to pay, from nothing at all to any amount. This allows organisations to test the success of advertising with us and reward our project if they have found it worthwhile. We have found that this only works because we are a charity supporting other charities who in return support us. www.spanglejelly.org.uk

One Response to A New Way To Advertise Voluntary Sector Jobs

  1. James says:

    Wow thanks Dave!!!

We’re trying to change the fact that private business is making money out of job advertising for the sector. But we’re a charity striving to grab market share which is a bit tricky with few resources. Luckily we have very loyal users who are our best adverts and who tell all their friends and colleagues.

A few more champions and pioneers like you for Spangle Jelly and we’ll start making a greater impact. http://www.spanglejelly.org.uk

    Thanks again,
    James from Spangle Jelly
