Our colleagues on the other side of the county boundary have changed the name of the organisation from Nottingham Council for Voluntary Service to Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service.
They found that the people who work with NCVS found the word ‘Council’ confusing and thought they were part of the City Council.
Helen Voce, Chief Executive, said: “We’re changing our name to something that is more meaningful to the people we work with.
“We believe that Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service gives a clearer description of our role in Nottingham’s community and voluntary sector and the positive impact we have.
“For some time now we have taken significant steps to make sure our services are more accessible to the people we support. Our vision for a thriving third sector will be made easier with a name and look that better represents what we do.”
