Umbrella is a charity working in South Derbyshire (and beyond) to improve services and facilities for disabled children and their families. Their volunteers are involved in a number of roles – including:

- Family Support Workers
- Bilingual co-ordinator
- Volunteer services
- Your turn
- Play and leisure service
The dates for Umbrellas next Disability Awareness Training are as follows:-
- Saturday 10 July – 9.15am-4.00pm
- Wednesday 14 July – 6.00pm-9.00pm
- Saturday 17 July – 9.45am-4.00pm
- Wednesday 21 July – 6.00pm-9.00pm
The Training is being held at Community Action Charnwood Street, Derby.
This training is an integral part of becoming a volunteer for Umbrella and all sessions must be completed.

These are evenings and are held at the Ronnie Mackeith Centre based at the Royal Derby Hospital (formally the Derby City Hospital) at 5.30 and 6.30pm. Potential volunteers need to telephone volunteer services on 01332-204434 to book a place if they wish to attend.
