Holiday activities for young disabled people

We recently posted news of the launch of Disability Direct’s new website ‘The Stuff‘ – for young disabled people in Derbyshire.

Well, we’ve heard that it is all going rather well!  The site is getting lots of hits and they are getting many enquiries through it, which is exactly what we hoped for.  243 people have visited in the last 3 weeks!

Naomi Hope, the Young People’s worker at Disability Direct is updating the information every day and is  always looking for more to add.  In particular she would like to add a section with holiday activities, as many young disabled people and their families struggle to find things to do over the long summer break.  This is where she’d like your help please

I am looking for any activities suitable for disabled people aged 16-25, that are taking place over the holidays.  It can be a respite break, a youth club, a festival, a sporting event, an information day…anything that you are running that you would like to promote on The Stuff.

If you have anything you could send me I will be adding the information over the next couple of weeks.

I look forward to hearing all about the great things taking place this summer!

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Naomi
