The training being put on is funded by Derbyshire County Council as part of its VCI Passport Scheme. There will be 5 x 3hr sessions 9.30-12.30 Saturdays at Woodville Children’s Centre covering introductory level to the following:
- Equal Opportunities 8th January
- Safeguarding 15th January
- Health & Safety 22nd January
- First Aid 29th January
- FREE WEEK NO COURSE
- Consulting Young People 12th Feb
There are 20 places and Children’s Centre volunteers are likely to take up half the places so there will be additional places available,
The training actually costs £175 per person, but all you pay (or better still, your organisation pays) is a small refundable deposit. Places are open to all in the Voluntary, Community and Independent sector who volunteer with children and young people.
To gain a “VCI Passport” volunteers must hold a current CRB on completion of the course.
