In the New Year CVP are offering NOCN qualifications in Community Development at levels 1 , 2 and 3.
These qualifications are ending soon, and as yet there are no definite plans to replace them. No more registrations can take place after 31st December 2010. Register your interest now or lose out later! This could be your last chance to get qualified! Contact us before 16th December 2010 to get your name on the list.
The training will be free if you live or work in the eligible areas. You can still access the courses if you are outside these areas but there may be a charge.
Who are these qualifications for?
These qualifications are designed to enable learners to understand community development, its key purpose and values, and the skills required to initiate quality community development work. They are suitable for anyone who is engaged, or is becoming engaged, in community development work.
What will I learn on these courses?
The courses will enable you to explore the values of Community Development and look at ways in which to put them into practice. Topics will include practice and principles in community development work, social justice, effective group work skills, and engaging with communities. You will be expected to complete and submit a portfolio of evidence, including a reflective practice journal.
How long will the courses last?
Course length will vary depending on which level you take. Typically the Level 2 qualification will run one day a week over 12 weeks, with some home study required as well. The courses will be delivered locally where possible, depending on the number of learners in the area.
