Practical Conservation and Wildlife Walks with Groundwork

Gresley Woods Conservation Mornings

Come along and help preserve the local nature in your area with some practical conservation work at your local woodland. We will be pruning and thinning some of the newer plantations. We hope you can come on one or all three of the dates below. No need to book, just come along all are welcome to lend a hand. (Children must be accompanied by an adult)
Come in warm clothes, waterproofs and sturdy footwear. Bring a hot drink with you, free biscuits will be provided.

Sunday Conservation mornings:

Sunday 27th February 2011 10.30am – 1pm
Sunday 6th March 2011 10.30am – 1pm
Sunday 13th March 2011 10.30am – 1pm

Meet at 10.30am in the car park opposite Princess Diana Memorial Woodland, Occupation Road, Albert Village

Wildlife Walks

Do come along to two short walks in your local area in the School half term – Tuesday and Friday, plus a guided wildlife walk on the Sunday 27th March. These invigorating walks are suitable for the whole family as they are on good surfaced paths including the Conkers Circuit. They are a great way to get the family together to enjoy the wildlife and scenery in your local area.

Walk Information


Tuesday 22nd February 10am – 11.30am (3 miles)
Friday 25th February 10am – 1pm (4.5 miles)
Sunday 27th March 11am – remember to change your clock!

A 3 mile wildlife stroll. We will be looking out for Brimstone butterflies and Bumblebees.
For all these walks meet at the car park on Occupation Road (opposite the School) Albert Village.

Everyone is welcome and walks are FREE of charge. Come in sturdy footwear and warm clothing.

All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

This is part of an ongoing project supported by the National Forest Company and the Forestry Commission to provide a variety of activities for local people in the area.
